A Wise Answer
Comes From a Better Question
Why do you ask me those questions, if you
are not prepared to accept the answers, or the reasoning behind them? On one
hand, most are looking for the easy answer, and on the other hand it can’t be
accepted because it is too simple.
More often our questions are poised not
so much to obtain the answer, but for an opportunity to express an opinion or
have one’s opinion validated.
Spirituality is what we are, "spirit of
reality." Life’s answers are simple and must be discovered.
After a statement I made to a women about
a man choosing to be sick, a lady started in on me. Do you think my friend asked
for terminal cancer? I said, that at some level of consciousness, that I
believed he did, yes. She asked, I gave her my opinion, but the answer was too
simple and left the door open for lots of other questions. There was no way she
wanted to her my answer, she was looking to have her retort sustained. I was
prepared to give her answers, had she been prepared to hear me.
Wise men know that you can not give
simple answers, and that is why they often answer your question with another
question, because you will most likely be prepared to accept your own answer.
People of wisdom guide others until they find the answer that they can believe,
for themselves.
In the age of quick fixes and low quality
answers, there are few seekers that are willing to even except the truth when
they hear it. They do not know that the truth can not be heard, but felt. When
you hear your truth, you feel it physically. No one can tell you your truth and
always, simple truths have the most meaning. The answer that we cherish the
most, is the discovered answer. A wise man will not feed fish to a starving man,
but seek to teach him how to fish. He will teach him to be independent of him.
Do not ask a wise man a question, unless
you are prepared to discover the answer.
Lucky you, if you ever find a truly wise
man that does not answer you question. It takes an even wiser listener to
discover the answer.
